Renovation Carpentry Support

Selective framing, blocking, backing, deck carpentry, and site corrections that support renovation and finish carpentry work.

Framing for extensions and additions.

Rear additions, second-floor extensions, garage conversions, retrofits -- framing is the beginning of all of it. We do full structural framing installation for residential projects: floor systems, wall framing, roof structure. This is the work everything else is built on.

We work from engineering drawings. For any structural scope a structural engineer should be involved -- we prefer working from their drawings rather than improvising on something that matters. If the project does not have engineering yet we can advise on what is needed.

We also handle blocking and backing that makes finish carpentry possible -- backing for future built-ins, blocking for grab bars, structural support for heavy millwork. Planned early this saves significant time and cost later.

Deck installations.

We install in four materials depending on project requirements and client preference. Pressure-treated lumber is the standard -- cost-effective, climate-appropriate, widely available. Composite decking (Trex, Fiberon, TimberTech) is the premium low-maintenance choice. Cedar weathers well with regular maintenance. Ipe is the high-end choice -- dense Brazilian hardwood that is effectively impervious to rot and will outlast the house.
