About Crown & Sill

Built on repair-first exterior work,
built for visible carpentry.

With over 25 years of combined experience across Toronto and the GTA, from wood rot repair to whole-home finish packages, Crown & Sill Carpentry grew from a simple idea — that exterior woodwork done right keeps a house sound, and interior trim done well makes it feel finished.

The story

Started by a team of carpenters who wanted to do things differently.

Most exterior carpentry crews replace. We repair. That distinction is the reason Crown & Sill exists. Where others tear out and start fresh, we assess what can be saved — matching existing profiles, splicing in new wood, rebuilding rot-damaged sections in place. It is slower, takes more skill, and costs less than a full replacement. And it keeps the original character of the home intact.

Over time, the same builders who trusted us with their exterior work asked us to handle the inside too — trim packages, doors, built-ins, paneling, fireplace surrounds. We said yes, built a crew, and started saying no to work that did not fit the standard we set on day one.

What we actually do

One trade. Six scopes. One standard.

Exterior woodwork & rot repair

Porch details, fascia, soffit, brackets, columns, railing — rebuilt or repaired in place, matched to the original profile and paint-ready.

Interior finish carpentry

Doors, casing, baseboard, crown, wainscoting, built-ins. The last trade on site and the one clients remember. We treat it that way.

Custom millwork & fireplace mantels

Designed to the room, proportioned to the firebox, built in white oak, walnut, poplar, or paint-grade MDF.

How we work

Clear scopes, clean sites, no surprises.

  • Written scopes before work starts — no verbal handshake pricing
  • Changes documented before they cost anything
  • Finished work protected during ongoing construction
  • Coordinated scheduling with builders, designers, and other trades
  • Same crew from estimate to completion — no handoffs
