Common project questions.
What clients ask most about estimates, materials, and how we work. Don't see yours? Get in touch.
Can you quote from photos?
Often, yes. Send photos, rough measurements, drawings, and notes and we will confirm whether a site visit is needed. Estimates are prepared from scope or by time and materials.
Do you provide written estimates?
Yes. Scope, inclusions, exclusions, and assumptions are documented before work begins, and changes are documented before they cost anything.
What types of projects do you handle?
We work with builders, designers, and homeowners on residential work — new builds, renovations, finish-carpentry packages, panelling and built-ins, exterior restoration, and the rough carpentry behind the finish.
Do you supply materials, or do I provide them?
Both. Many builders supply materials to their preferred specs; in other cases we source and supply to the agreed quality and match existing finishes where needed.
Can you replicate existing trims or mouldings?
Yes. We match historic or custom profiles using profile gauges, precision milling, and premium materials — valuable in heritage rooms or when extending an existing detail.
Do you handle exterior wood repair?
Yes. We take a repair-first approach — rot repair, porch details, fascia, soffit, and heritage-sensitive replacement.
Do you coordinate with other trades?
Yes. We sequence around site readiness, adapt to the schedule, and protect finished work from damage during following trades.
MDF or Poplar?
It depends on the project. MDF gives a smooth painted surface and is cost-effective for dry interiors; Poplar is more durable, resists warping, takes paint and stain, and suits high-traffic or moisture-prone areas and heritage work. We will recommend the right choice for your scope.
Do you clean up daily?
Yes. We protect finished work, control dust, and clean the work area daily.
What areas do you serve?
Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. For larger or specialized projects we can travel beyond the GTA depending on scope, schedule, and budget.
